From McKenzie Bridge, OR, drive 38 miles northeast on Highway 126 to Santiam Pass. Turn right to go south on Forest Road 2690 towards Hoodoo Ski area. Past Hoodoo Ski area, turn left east on Forest Road 920 into Ray Benson Sno-Park.
Great place for going and just doing your own thing with your family, whatever snow thing that may be. Lots of snowmobiling, sledding, and tubing. Great for bringing little kids to start them off on skiing and sledding without going to the actual mountain. Quiet and just a great over all snow area. The one reason they didn't get 5 starts is because the bathrooms are absolutely DISGUSTING and some kind of change needs to be done with that because they are no joke the worse bathrooms I have ever been into in my life.
Great area to visit any time of the year. When the snow is gone you can hike to the top of hoodoo and get an amazing view! Your can also ride ATVs with plenty of trail options!
This is a large sno-park with snowmobile, cross country skiing and snowshoeing trails. It offers some sledding.
Logistics: buy a sno-pass before arriving. The access is just past Hoodoo parking lots. It has pit toilets and a warming hut. It may help to download trail maps before leaving your house.
For snowshoeing and skiing, there are North and South trails. As far as we could tell, most people started their conversation with, "this is our first time here..."
So you are in good company. Enjoy!
