This campground is on the summit of Pine Mountain, near Pine Mountain Observatory.
From Bend, travel about 20 miles east on US 20, then 8 miles south on Forest Road 2017.
It would be a great place to camp if it wasn't for the broken down burned out cars and tweakers Living in the campground.
Lovely spot. Free! Get here early because it's first come, first. The telescopes were fun!
Excellent place to stay. Very quiet and clean dry camping. Lots of hungry chipmunks! Bring your hammock too.
