From Ruch, OR, travel south on Upper Applegate Road for 14.8 miles, and turn left onto French Gulch Road (County Road 959). Crossing the dam, proceed for 1 mile to the French Gulch Trailhead.
Great trail that goes all yhebwaybaround the lake. A few picnic tables along the way. Not much at the parking area/trail head. Lake was very low
Went with a group of friends, we did about 7 miles total. Beautiful views, well kept (trees that had fallen cut to clear path etc). I would say a moderate hike - has some good climbs.
