Pawnee Lake, constructed in 1932, offers boating, fishing and great camping. The surrounding area is beautifully landscaped and features a sandy beach. Recreation facilities include boat ramps, boat dock, primitive campsites, and 150 full RV hookups. Picnic areas, restrooms and group shelters are also available. The lake consists of 530 surface acres and is known for its large bass. The lake's shoreline length is four miles. A beautiful 9-hole golf course and horse facilities are adjacent to the lake.
Beautiful (suprisingly) large lake that my family and I love to camp at. It's perfect for a family with small children.
We took the kids out on the boat and found a place for them to swim. Very relaxing.
Nicely tended picnic areas, porta-johns here and there. Swimming access could be better - only found a couple of spots around the shoreline where you could get to the water. There is a Good Sam RV camp as well as a state-owned RV camp, only black water disposal was at the Good Sam campground, but both had electric/water hook-ups. Nice lake views.
