This recreation area is part of Sakakawea Lake
We like camping at Beaver Bay its hard to get a spot sometimes alot of people definitely do the extended stay. Fishing hasn't been bad either but lots of wind and waves to fight lately. Great time
This is the best run facility in the state in my opinion. Todd the on-site coordinator is amazing in his service. It's a great group of campers that are community minded. The Survivor Games is held there each labor day. On Saturdays there is Cotton Candy and Popcorn for everyone. All donations go to the Cool Caps for Cancer Charity. This helped Williston Hospital get cutting edge equipment for the prevention of hair loss for women with breast cancer getting chemotherapy. Now they don't have to travel to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota.
Come have a safe fun time!!!
Location is beautiful. Has a pavilion, flag pole, some sheltered picnic tables, a playground, horse shoe pits, boat dock. Would be a great place for a family reunion or youth group campout.
Nice spot for camp. Has electricity and vault toilets. There is water, but it doesn't seem potable. We guessed the fracking rigs nearby have messed up the water table (the water was very effervescent and discolored). Across the stream there is a sister campground with better tenting options closer to the old shoreline. The reservoir is very low.
Very noisy. Kids swimming and playing on dock while boats coming and going. I spoke up about it but rules are not enforced. Extremely noisy at Night. Quiet time not enforced. Irresponsible kids and parents. Fireworks even though signs say no Fireworks. This place is poorly run. Taking my business elsewhere and spreading the word
