This recreation area is part of Sakakawea Lake
Fun place to camp, overall clean. Only issue I had was we ran out of toilet paper in the bathroom for days and it never was replaced.
Ticks galore!!!! We took 52 ticks off of our dog in 2 days!! Several off of ourselves. No mosquitos which was nice but we had a ton of ticks. I really just hate North Dakota. They need to burn the grasses every year to get rid of the ticks and keep everything mowed short. Especially if they are charging for it!!!
I have camped here with my family since I was freshly born in 1987. My family has camped here since before I was born. I have so many great memories here, and now my children get to enjoy it too. Other than wishing for a sandy beach it's perfect.
