James Canyon Campground offer 5 sites along US82 just west of Mayhill, NM. The lower elevation of 6,800' means this small site is usable longer than most Sacramento Mountain area campgrounds when the snows begin. James Canyon Campground is located 2 miles west of Mayhill on US 82.
Nice campground. Good restrooms and good tent spots. Beautiful spot for a campsite. Only downside is that you can hear and see cars drive by at night.
This was such a cute little place to camp! No running water or anything but they did have drop toilets. We got to see some owls and a beautiful sky from the sunset. We went in the fall and it was pretty windy, so bring extra jackets!
