_This campground is easily accessible for campers and provides good facilities_ Located in the Black Range Mountains off NM State Highway 152, starting at San Lorenzo and ending in Hillsboro. This is a mountain road with beautiful scenic sites at every curve. Watch for rocks on the road.
The campground is located east of Silver City in the Black Range Mountains on the south side of New Mexico Highway 152, between mile markers 28 and 29.
One of my favorite places. Good for a quick stretch and bathroom break when going over the black range but also a nice camping area.
Beautiful camp ground, convenient and very clean. However I'm not a fan of the barbed wire fence nearby.
Great free camping or day trip spot with fire rings and picnic tables with several public restrooms. Easy access just off the road but you will go up past 8,000 feet if you come over Emory Pass. There are twelve camping spots that are about 150' a part with a small creek that runs parallel with the camp sites. Great scenary in the fall as the leaves change color.
Spent the weekend there and the views were amazing. Plenty of restrooms, tables, grills, and just over all a great time. My son had a blast. He had me walking for over 2 hours straight and he’s 3 😂
