We were in a tough situation and by the grace of God stumbled upon Topaz Lake Recreation Area. We got to meet the park ranger Jonathan and his coworker Dennis. They are very friendly, gracious, and hard working. We highly recommend visiting the recreation area! It’s clean, well kept with very nice campsites. We would definitely come back! Oh, the office crew is up there too!

So serene and calm. I did my 30 minute compulsory meditation here. You can ski in this beautiful lake.

It's close to home, and the sites are well-kept. The upper loop has water and power, while the lower spots are dry. When the water levels are high, you get to be right on the water. There are fire pits and picnic tables at each spot, with water spouts available about every 5 spots. Mature cottonwood trees offer afternoon shade, and each camp spot has a smaller tree or two within it. Depending on the time of year, these trees are overrun with bugs... mosquitoes mainly. It can get brutal. Do not let this detour you from coming. Just prepare accordingly. There is a nice grass area and playground for the kids, along with nice paved roads for bike riding. The facilities are fantastic and well-kept, and include showers.
