The lake itself is great. The main issue I had there were the extremely invasive and swarming flies. They'll bite you too. It had been some years since I had been here, and I'm not sure what happened but the flies are sooooooooo bad. I don't think there's a description I could give that would even prepare anyone for how bad they are. I hope maybe somehow this can be addressed because they made a beautiful trip pretty unbearable. Once night comes though, then it's really beautiful. I love how much space there is to camp undisturbed by other people. You can have a fire which is great. There are bathrooms available. There are supposed to be showers but they require tokens. The main issue with that was the machine to purchase those tokens was broken. Still nice to have running water in the sinks though.
Love it here. My wife and I spent 4 days tent camping and had a blast. The lake is super low right now but still we had a lot of fun.
The beach was beautiful, the sand was PERFECT and I couldn't get enough of it. I went at night and the morning after. Some people even parked campers along the edge of the beach. It was so big I got my own big secluded area to swim around.
