As of the Summer of 2019 the Bridgeport State Recreation area is now privately owned but new owners/people seem to care and are in process of several improvements. First improvement I witnessed this past Summer was the demolition of ancient outhouses. Until the construction of new outhouses are done, portapotties have replaced outhouses temporarily.

Beautiful lake that is secluded by all the breathtaking trees making it easy to enjoy nature.

It is an ideal location to "unplug" from our electronic world ornget away for a few days in a tent, RV or camper. There are plenty of camping spots on or off the lake for tents and campers.

Enjoy an afternoon outdoors swimming, fishing, boating, exploring, birdwatching, walking, etc.

Fishing spots are spread throughout the area on five different lakes. If you're experienced and conditions are favorable, there is an access point to the North Platte River in the Northwest corner, by the railroad bridge.

There are so many more fantastic adventures to experience so go and explore!

Pretty little lakes with decent tree cover Lakes are shallow and good for family swimming. Water in early June was pretty warm. Saw several people jet skiing, tubing, and a couple boats. Good picnic tables in many areas & some decent outdoor bathrooms. Locals say it's crowded on weekends; better to come during the week.

Crystal clear water, great water temperature, great night skies! Very quiet at night except for trains blowing the horn in the late and early hours, fishing is good, i own a 28' boat so water surface is not really much for large fast boats or bow riders, even kinda small for jet skis but, a wonderful place to get away if you are ok with not alot of boating surface and going in a clockwise circle. Great atmosphere and sandy beaches! Will visit again to camp and fish and ski but won't bring boat. The swimming right at the campsite was amazing! Not a disappointment at all!!!
