Every day is filled with things to do around historic Natchitoches! Natchitoches is the original French colony in Louisiana established in 1714, and the oldest surviving settlement of the Louisiana Purchase. Nakatosh Campgrounds are ideally located only minutes from three historic fort sites, Creole plantation homes, the Cane River National Heritage Area, many museums, historic homes and churches, an alligator park, a fish hatchery, and recreational outdoor activities including fishing, hiking, canoeing, or walking through a nature preserve. Experience the charm of Natchitoches during the Festival of Lights and Christmas Festival, one of the nation’s oldest community-based holiday celebrations. Whether you’re an avid camper looking for the best Natchitoches campground, or just an RV park to “call it a night” in your home away from home, the Nakatosh Campgrounds offer plenty of options to suit any need.
From jct I-49 (exit 138) & Hwy 6: Go 1/4 mi W on Hwy 6.
Great little RV park located behind the Chevron gas station. Sights were big and some were pull thru all had full hook up. We stayed 2 nights, very quiet even being located behind truck stop.
Ms. Amy at the front desk is SO helpful and accommodating. Our truck broke down nearby and we were towed here. The campground is clean and easy pull through spots. We stayed 3 nights, the internet is great! My kids were able to go to school virtual and my husband I were able to get work done. If passing through here again we would definitely stop here for a night again!
Super nice stay. Long pull through, didn't need to unhitch. An excellent walk to a wonderful Mexican Restaurant El Patio. In fact you can pretty much walk to anything here. Truck stop is adjacent to the campgrounds, the entrance is actually the last driveway to the truck stop. If you get there when the office is closed, there's and envelope and box to put the fee in, then call and the nice lady will give you all the access codes. We didn't experience any truck noise as we kept our fan going. Yes we will be back.
Dirty....period. Electric didnt work, good thing we had a very long ext cord to find a box that did work. Water flows out onto the ground with no breaker or gravel so that makes a mess. Bathroom locks work or they dont, poorly stocked bathrooms, no curtains on the mens showers...one plus?.....helped a nice man who was traveling with his 37 Ford and needed a jump. We can camp just about anywhere, but this was a low.
