Great dog friendly easy hike. Very subtle grades for the first couple miles.
This might be the worst hikes I’ve ever done. Went in late July, and between the dust and the bugs/flies it was unbearable. We actually endured for 2+ miles of this before heading back. There were rare glimpses of the creek below and the mountain, but certainly not enough to make this hike worth it. I do not know what the appeal to this trail is. Hopefully this trip is better in a different season.
Nice easy hike. We took maybe 10 kids under 8 for a nature walk. Nobody whined much. It was good.
Excellent trail used by dogs and horses. It takes about a mile and a half or so before you can see Moose Creek (the woods are gorgeous!), but once you get the the bridge, you come out of the woods and get some really pretty views. I wasn’t able to go much further due to time, but I’ll be back for the full day hike to the lake! Easy to the bridge, moderate after that.
