This is a pretty neat place. I loved the fact the camp hosts aren't strict and watching your every single move, telling you can't do this or that. The bathrooms could use a little extra TLC. Be prepared, the mosquitoes can be vicious at times.
They have a boat ramp with two very long docks and an area roped off for swimming.
This is a super nice place to go camping honestly and it was perfect for our family reunion we held there this year. It had plenty of lawn space to have our family, meals, lawn games, and to be around the campfire. That's a family of 40 btw! Not to mention this is right by a lake caused by the nearby American Falls dam. The only thing to watch out for is if the water is too high or too low because then that affects the type of beach there is for the kiddos so just keep an eye on that but they do have a place sectioned off for just swimming that is away from the docks
This is how camping should be. Nice park, quiet once the boaters get hooked up and head out. We had reservations at another park in American Falls, but that place was crowded, dusty and way overrated. We called the caretaker here and they just happened to have a cancellation. Really a hidden gem here.
This is the best place to take kids camping! There is a playground, a sand volleyball area, and vests to borrow. There's so many shade trees and the grass is so nice. All the camp spots are big. We live just a few miles away but we love to say camp or even overnight with the kids. We don't have to be far from home but still enjoy the camping experience!
