From Moorhead, go 14 miles east on U. S. Highway 10 and follow the signs to the park.
Beautiful state park 30min from south Fargo. 7$ for one time admission, 35$ for an annual MN state parks pass. You can buy admission passes online so I’d recommend doing that beforehand as it is a bit of a process.
Come to this small park for the beautiful clear river which can only be described as babbling and meandering. On a hot day toes will definitely want to paddle. Other hiking trails pass through the prairie.

It may not be the largest state park or have miles and miles of trails, but the quality far exceeds the quantity. This is a wonderful oasis of protected prairie lands and it pays dividends in the plethora of trees, grasses, plants, wildflowers, insects, and birds that thrive here.
Chuck in the Buffalo River that meanders thru the park as a bonus for all you river aficionados out there and it's hard to beat or pass by without stopping.
