Camp Dearborn is a blast! It's totally family friendly. Clean, spacious, and perfect for having fun, or completely vegging out! I've never been the outdoors type. But we had such a fun time! 100% check it out!

We have been going to CD forever!!! We just got back from a long weekend for Labor Day. All things considered, especially CD finding people to work, we thought it was perfect. The improvements were great and we hope they will continue. People need to remember that it’s everyone’s responsibility to take care of the camp. Keep up the good work and we’re looking forward to more vacations in the future.

Rented a primitive campsite. As other reviews have stated, sites are very small- no privacy. Barely enough room to setup your tent and chairs. Loud, noisy neighbors caused us to leave in the middle of the night. After midnight- neighbors turned on music and started blaring it and were clearly enjoying themselves. This wouldn’t have been a problem if the sites were bigger. Other reviews have also echoed this. No regard for stated quiet time made it impossible to sleep/enjoy the site so we had to leave.

Went to one of the beaches, pools, and restrooms/bathhouse. The facilities were dated and dim, and were filthy. Beach had debris throughout the sand. None of the soap dispensers worked in the bath house, for example, with one refill canister of soap laying on the counter for the whole place. Floor was disgusting and gross. Campground isn’t well lit at night, which makes the significant walk from the primitive sites to the bathhouse feel unsafe, especially as you need to share the road with cars at night and they have no real way to see you.

At the end of the day - good location, but the trade offs are absolutely not worth it. Won’t return.

I made reservations for October 13-15 back in Apr of 2023. We arrived and when we were checking in the ladies told me, "someone is in your site"! " They have been doing this, so you are going to have to go to the site and see". I'm like what?? So my husband and rode around in the dark to look for site 95. We couldn't find it in the dark, so we drove back up to the gate and the lady decides to give me a map. Why she didn't give me one when we were checking in I don't know. We get to the site and yes, someone was there. My husband called up to the front and the park supervisor came and talked with the people and told them that, " Monique Lewis was the person that was registered to site 95. We sat and waited and waited about 45min to an hour before we got another site. They should have made the people leave the site, instead of us going to another one. I was very upset about this. We should have gotten some of our money back for the inconvenience. We have never experienced anything like this before. We will never camp at Camp Dearborn again. Very disappointed.

The reviews here show how there are two different worlds at Camp Dearborn. If you have an RV, it's not bad. If you're a camper and wanting to camp at Camp Dearborn, you're gonna have a bad time.

As others have said, the campsites are so small. I am a solo camper, so that's not the biggest of deals to me, but wanted to call it out for others. However it actually was hard figuring out where my spot was because my camp neighbors were taking up part of my site and i just assumed that was actually theirs.

I checked in Friday and apparently they were having some sort of concert? I saw on the site there's a weekly talent show (they don't say when that is) and nightly dancing from 8-10 pm. There was nothing in the calendar about this event. I'm still not sure if the dancing/talent show is what this concert was because there's a single sentence on their site about those things.

But the concert ran well past 10. It ended closer to 11:30 pm and keep in mind, the park's quiet hours start at 11 pm. In short, Camp Dearborn was breaking their own rules about not being loud

I was hoping for a peaceful weekend in nature and getting to rest a lot and instead was thrown into the middle of a concert and had no way to tune them out because it was so loud.

Speaking of loudness, they have their workers driving around on golf carts all night long. I don't know what they could be attending to at midnight, but there sure did like driving around.

And finally let's talk about the bathrooms. I've attached some pictures so you can see for yourself. The showers and sinks were caked in this mysterious brown matter. There were 3 separate sections of sinks and yet there was 1 single soap dispenser for all like 15 sinks to use. Just one soap dispenser. There's clearly spots where there used to be dispensers but they took them down for some unknown reason. It's truly disgusting.

So in short, if you have an RV and like drunken scream-singing concerts, this place is great. Anyone else, find somewhere else to go because this place is a dump.
