From the website:
The Blind Lake Rustic Campground is located about halfway along the 17-mile Potawatomi Trail in Pinckney Recreation Area. It's a looped trail so hikers can enjoy miles and miles of scenery (without an out-and-back). There are 10 campsites outfitted with a vault toilet, hand-pump water access and fire rings. Only dead and downed timber are to be used for firewood.
You must check in at the park office on the day of your reservation. Camping is only allowed for one-night stays.
Reservations are encouraged and are taken by phone (734-426-4913) or online at MiDNRReservations.com.
Day-of arrivals are taken on a first-come, first-served basis.
Very accommodating backpacking site with direct lake access. Beautiful views. Mosquitoes were very determined. Be sure to bring the right clothing and plenty of bug repellant. Also, word for the wise, pick up a few dry pieces of wood before you get to your site. We only grabbed a couple and had to deal with a lot of moist wood at site which we had to dry before it caught.
We stopped here to rest while hiking the Potawatomi Trail. I didn't get to experience the campground besides sitting on a bench for 10 minutes. I look forward to getting a more all around experience with the grandkids during the summer.
Great hike or bike in campground. Most but not all sites have posts for hammock camping. Hand water pump and outhouse are nearby. 4g data is ok if using Verizon network.
Great rustic campground. You can hike as little as a half mile or take as long as a route as you'd like. Bathroom and hand pump for water make it a nice site
