The Medeiros primitive campsites are located along the southern shoreline of O'Neill Forebay. A limited number of fire rings, shade ramadas, and tables are available. Drinking water is available in 3 locations. There are no flush toilets or showers, however chemical toilets are available. All boats must be removed from the water by sunset. Medeiros campground is available on a first - come first - serve basis.
Used to camp here years ago. Visited family who had 2 trailers set up by the lake. They had a nice view of the lake. Scenery and backdrop was beautiful. $7.00 dollars for a day pass with senior discount. No hookups here. They do have restrooms here. No running water. The weather was beautiful, it was about mid-afternoon when the wind hit. I had forgotten how windy it gets here at Forebay. I'm talking about wind that stirs up a lot of dust and blows items off your table. We thankfully had trailers we could get away from the wind. It is a nice place to visit or camp if you have a trailer to get out of the wind
Cheap @ $20 per tent site, very friendly staffs.
1 additional car allowed for $10.
Spots with trees acting as shade.
Tables are available in most places but not all.
Lots of MoSqUiToS & AnTs. Please do not come without insect repellant solutions.
Windy however it’s an advantage during hot days of summer.
Small bbq grill available however no secured fire pit is available for fire.
Restrooms available without sinks or showers.
Very good place for sky gazing at night.
Last: everyone please clean all your areas before you leave, lets everyone participate in living in clean space.
We recently had the pleasure of visiting this campground and we must say, it was a truly delightful experience. Despite not catching any fish during our fishing trip, we were still able to appreciate the breathtaking beauty of the lake and its surroundings.
One of the highlights of our trip was stumbling upon a big, friendly toad. We were thrilled to have the chance to observe this charming creature up close and it really added to the overall enjoyment of our trip.
Although we didn't have much luck with the fishing, the stunning scenery and peaceful atmosphere made the adventure well worth it. We'd love to return to this amazing lake and hopefully have better luck with the fish next time around.
Overall, we would highly recommend this lake to anyone who is looking for a serene and picturesque spot to relax and enjoy nature. Even if the fish aren't biting, the beauty of the lake and its inhabitants is more than enough to make for a truly memorable experience.
