Nice little campground. Has a toilet but no drinkable water unless you filter water from the river, which has a bitter taste.
1) Be careful driving to this site! My GPS took us on back roads nearly the whole way here. There were some points that were nearly impassable and my car got all scratched up by overgrowth on either side of the road. I wish I would have been aware of this ahead of time. If your navigation system tries to bring you here via Carranza Road (off of 206) I recommend finding an alternative route.
2) Know that you will have to walk about a quarter mile to your campsite as they prohibit motor vehicles at a certain point.
3) The sites all have a fire ring, but purchase firewood ahead of time at the office ($7/bag) or from one of the locals. I camped here in early September and there wasn't much wood left to scavenge for.
4) There is a high probability that you will be camping within earshot of others. The sites are spread about 25 yards apart.
This was my first experience camping in Jersey - solid 3 stars. Decent price, difficult travel, nice campsite.
Great little campground near the river. I saw a family canoe into this campground. Lots of critters doing their thing at night. No water, just fire rings, marked spots, and a pit toilet. Enough room for around 4 canoes.
Backpacked to and from camp site using Batona Trail, awesome hike and nice camp site. No water unless you bring a filter and does have an outhouse.
Nice primitive campground on the Batsto river with no motor vehicle access. No picnic table and pit style privy but each site has a fire ring. Sites are pet friendly. There is no water pump available at this campground unless you filter from the river which is what I did.
