Love these little primitive campsites along the towpath... great idea!
Abysmal water acess. Crazy bank require straight bush wacking. NOT kayak or canoe friendly. Small campite area.
I canoe the Potomac River. There's no sign on the side of the river that your on Leopards Mill Campsite. However if your on the bike trail it's well mark. Looking from the river at the bank, you can see porta-john, bbq grill and the backside of the Leopards Mill post. Kudos to the individual who left the rope tied to the log in order to climb the river bank of the campsite. I canoe in late October and alot of the leaves are gone. But if your planning to it in the middle of summer, it may not be as visible because of full foliage. Not alot of land mark. Best wishes on your Potomac River Paddle adventure.
