This is an old Motel and RV park together. Both the motel and RV park appear to have lots of full-time/long term residents. both the motel and RV park are pretty run down. The "host" was accommodating, and the location was close to the Kentucky Dam village area and associated attractions.
Cute little bungalow cabin!!! Very clean, fully equipped and the owner is super sweet!!
Do NOT use this campground for an overnight stop! The spaces were fine although most of the campers are there permanently and some for a long time. Then came the bathrooms...The men's room had one functional toilet, one was removed with just a hole in the floor and the ceiling had fallen in over the showers with the light wiring just dangling. I think they are just letting entropy do its work until there is nothing left. Again, DO NOT stop at this campground.
Place is nothing as described online. First red flag was the “office” is a camper with a phone number on the door to call someone for service. Room was suppose to be non smoking, it wreaked of smoke which they tried to cover up with air freshener. The bathroom had flies, we didn’t even spend the night, took our losses and went somewhere else
Let’s start with what we found good here. The hookups are solid, power, water and septic all worked well. Most sites had a concrete patio, be it they have been there quite a while. Monte, the manager always answered the phone and was responsive. The price was great at $35 per night even on Labor Day. We booked a week out and it was the only place we could find a spot. Now for the rest. If you don’t have an onboard shower I would NOT recommend coming here, the bathhouses are pretty gross. There was a shattered bottle in the grass right beside our pad. Monte texted us the Wi-Fi but we could never even find it to log on and we were in the middle of the campground. There was a mix of transients, long stays and some units that have or will be there forever. In summary if you’re looking for a base of operations to be mobile from, this place works, it you’re looking for a campground to hang out in during the time you are in the Grand Rivers area, you might want to consider other campgrounds.
