Joy Ranch is a reputable destination location for weddings, corporate retreats and family vacations. Joy Ranch's facility includes a full-service campground and an impressive working dude ranch featuring Norwegian Fjord Horses, Quarter Horses, Miniature Horses, and one Miniature Donkey!
I loved everything about the Joy Ranch while I was there for a week for a kids camp. The Old West Main Street, the western theme throughout the rooms, dining hall, bunk house was a treat! The kids enjoyed fishing, kayaking, swimming, archery, horseback rides.

We were at the church which is the most charming place I've ever been to. I can't wait to go explore Joy Ranch in the summer.
My wife and I stayed here for about 2 weeks when I was in town for work and the other campground we were at was shutting down for the winter. Joy ranch welcomed us with open arms and we are so grateful for them allowing us to live there for a short time.
My only regret is not being able to spend some time actually checking out the town area and seeing more about what they do.
It got quite windy towards the end of our stay and the temperatures were starting to drop. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I loved our stay here and honestly after traveling 7000+ miles around the US it was one of my absolute favorite stays. it wasn't super spectacular just the general vibes I got from this place made me feel comfortable and at home. I liked watertown, SD.
