**All backcountry camping requires a backcountry permit.** https://www.nps.gov/noca/planyourvisit/permits.htm
Backcountry campers will find many options throughout the park. Wilderness camps run the gamut from serene, creek-side camps perfect for a family to high and rocky camps with outstanding views. The Wilderness Trip Planner Map lists all of the backcountry campsites in the park complex. Boat-in camping on Ross Lake and camping near Stehekin offer another option for those looking to get away from it all. Within the trail and lake corridors, camping is allowed in designated sites only, to protect both the wilderness and to ensure all visitors have a quality backcountry experience.
