Coming into Syria VA on Rt 670, the Old blue Ridge Tpk, or on Rt 643, the etlan Rd, you will see the Graves Mountain Market Deli & Tackle on the Right, continue on Rt 670 for 150 yards and you will see the campground's large sign on the right, Drive in, Honor box signage and details will be in front of you.
We never found the showers but they exist somewhere. You just park and find a spot to set up your tent. It costs $12 per person for a tent. There are vault toilets all around.
Beautiful!! So well kept. This was our second time camping here.. we love it!
Great deal! $10 and you get free wifi, just stop at the Market or go to the lodge across the street for the password. Plenty of space to camp. Ground is soft and level. No fire pits but you can use rocks to make your own, just put the rocks back. An outhouse is available but no running water. Perfect location to hike Old Rag or Whiteoak Canyon
Greaves Mountain is certainly a very hard ride but well worth it. Climbing the devils backbone is pretty steep and works the horses up into a bucket of sweat. It's a few miles up the steep Mountain, but well worth the top.
The picture with the picnic table that is the very top of the devils backbone Mountain, breath taking views, picture doesn't do it justice you have to be there to really appreciate it.
Affordable campground with plenty of porta potties and well water stations around the field. Pick your own spot, there are no pre-assigned plots of land. There is a decent general store that makes sandwiches right next door which is helpful!
