About Campground

The Forestville Campground is located just north of the chalet at the Noquemanon Trail Network's Forestville Trailhead. There are 18 rustic sites tucked closely around a narrow circular drive with fire-pits at all sites and picnic tables at most sites. Sites are best for tents, van style campers, or very small pop up trailers. Sites may not have level ground and due to the narrow road it is very challenging to park rvs or larger camping trailers. All sites are located within close proximity while perimeter sites provide a bit of separation. Vault toilets are located in front of the pole building and water is available on the west side of the chalet. There are no electrical hookups or shower facilities on site. Campground fees start at$20/night. Your camping fees help maintain the non-profit facility and trails. Campground is generally open May- October.

A few things to know: All sites must be booked and paid for online through campground reservation site. When you arrive, you will fill out a Site Card with your reservation info and then post at your reserved campsite. Sites are numbered 1-18. Locate sites by following road in to the right of the campground kiosk. There are 18 numbered sites to the rear of pole building. Limit of 2 tents and 6 persons per site. Maximum continuous stay is 7 days. Please consider 1 tent per site to allow extra distancing. Fires are limited to metal fire rings only, please do not move metal rings or construct rock rings. Firewood can be purchased for$7/bundle on honor system but there is no guarantee of availability (We recommend picking up a bundle of wood in town if you are planning to have a fire). Place firewood payment in mailbox at wood shed. Fully extinguish all fires upon departure. Quiet hours are 10pm-8am. Check out by 1pm. Dogs must be kept on leash (it's Michigan Law) and please clean-up with“Dog Spot” bags available on site. Potable water is available at spigot on west side of pole building. All trails are non-motorized. If you are here to enjoy the trails, please support the trails with a suggested $10/day donation or annual membership. An attendant stops in daily to check on campground and there is now a volunteer Campground Host that will be living on site that is available to assist at random hours. Overall a pretty decent campground, I don't wanna make it seem it seem otherwise; however there are some things worth mentioning, some of which I think could be easy problems to fix.

• For starters, I've been in many outhouses in my day, and these were by far the stinkiest outhouses I've truly ever been in. At the point where it's almost hard to breathe in there.

• Also, the pole barn/office has a super bright light out back that lights up the entire campsite lot, I had to hang a sheet next to our tent so it was dark enough for us to sleep and we were in the far back of the lot. Which leads me to my next couple points

• The campsites are pretty close together, there's very little brush or shrubs or greenery between sites so it's all very open. Basically you can see every other campsite on the lot no matter which site you're at. Secondly, the hiking trail/biking trail toward the back is maybe 10 feet or so from the campsites 09, 07, and 05 which was particularly annoying with people jogging and biking in the morning, especially with having a dog with us

I'd just recommend redirecting the trail farther

back from the campsites and letting some nature grow in between.

(Although it's worth noting as a positive aspect to the lack of underbrush, the trails and campsites are very well kept up and maintained)

• Also this one's not as big of an issue honestly but was worth mentioning. Another two in one;

There's no sink on the property but there is some hand sanitizer. Also, the potable water is just a double headed wall faucet on the side of the pole barn (one side supplying water to the owners camper) so the second available side is very high pressured and sprays a lot, fast and hard. It was honestly kind of annoying trying to brush my teeth or even fill my water jugs.

I'd like to end this review by saying the people working there all seemed very nice and helpful, didn't bother us at all. I would recommend camping here, but I hope they fix the dang outhouses (among other things)

Was a little tricky for a directionally challenged person like me to find after dark (there are signs, I’m just slow). The campsites are kinda close together but everyone there was cool. I reckon I’ll visit again.

We would camp here again, we had a good time. Everyone that camped last weekend there was very respectful, and nice. We had no issues, besides not grabbing our whole tent. Lol. Meijer and the town is not far away, thankfully. There was firewood at the campground to purchase if needed, and there were trails all around the campsite, if you wanted to go walking or biking.

Nice quiet campground! Amazing biking and hiking trails go right through the campground. Campground host was very friendly and helpful. Sites are pretty close together though!

Very clean sites. Campsites are quite small and close together. There is a huge mercury light on the pole barn on site that was shining right in to our tent. Avoid spots 1 and 18 if you want to have darkness. Very hard to find, as the signs are handwritten on small garage sale-type signs.
