A truly wonderful experience - many thanks to hosts Val and Stephanie!

The ranch itself is tucked in a valley surrounded by the Trinity Alps, with woods and meadows all around. Plenty of room to walk and wander even within the ranch, with national forest trailheads within a 10 minute drive. Felt very safe and at ease - there's a magic here that will make you want to stay beyond your plans. If you get a chance for a horseback ride be sure and go for it - the route through the ranch is pretty but not too challenging, and Val's knowledge of horses should put even a first-time rider at ease.

We're still floating on air after our weekend feeling groovy at Eagle Creek Ranch! I knew from the wonderful use of colour (a classy Squarespace website is always a great sign, obviously) but it blew us away.

Stephanie and Val are exceptional hosts and couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. Immaculate rooms, dreamy marshmallow beds, fresh homemade muffins for breakfast, beautiful animals and a breathtaking location.

We took our kids (6 and 8) on an ambitious but very successful 9-mile hike to Stoddard Lake where they caught six wild brown trout for dinner, and then barbecued them by the pond. We usually camp, so this was a treat for us, and we couldn't have been more pleased.

I have so many beautiful pictures in my mind after this weekend. Absolute heaven.

Friendly staff make this place great. Gorgeous setting, beautiful property. There is a communal feel, you'll be meeting fellow travellers and making new friends. Food is fantastic. It's also family friendly, with a working ranch feel. Kids will love the sheep, cat, goats, horses.

Incredibly beautiful, wonderfully relaxing, fabulous locale. They're in a 3,000+ft high mountain valley with green pastures, magnificent pine trees everywhere, horses, sheep, alpaca, goats, birds, and a lively, sparkling, crystal-clear, mountain-water-fed creek babbling nearby. There's a marvelous sheep walk - alpaca and goats too - every morning around 10am where several locals and other resort guests join in on the parade up the path to the flock's private pasture.

Your host is a brilliant hospitality expert who is thrilled to have you there and who genuinely wants to look after your every need while in her care. Your spirits will be lifted if only for the brief space of time you're an extremely doted-upon guest in their glorious mountain villa. It's remote for sure, with no cable tv or cell phone service for miles but that seclusion only adds to its appeal.

The clean, fresh air and mountain water, seclusion, charm, grace, and hospitality all add up to a stay that will refresh your spirit, hold you in their spell and remind you that life really is beautiful.
