Great spot with access to the Arkansas River with an easy place to put in kayaks.
I loved my stay in Elephant Rock Campground. Short beautiful drive right outside the town, which can sadly be a reason, why it can get little loud sometimes with people pulling in late at night playing loud music. I still give this free campground with amazing sunrise and sunset 5 starts. There is many options to camp. For easy access you can stay right in campground or you can cross the railroad and there is many more spots near the river for little more secluded feel. Mountains surrrounding Buena Vista ara majestic. I stayed here in September and it was not crowded at that time. Very simple open setup, almost like camping in a parking lot. I give this campground 5 stars for beautiful surroundings, great location and convince.
Free stay! But no toilet so there is some toilet paper scattered about. Beautiful river thats an easy walk, great neighbors, cool breeze otherwise!!!
