n 1922, the Schmidt Brothers Mill constructed a sawmill and logging operation to take advantage of the wealth of timber in the area. This multi acre site incorporated homes for roughly 20 families, a mill office, a post office, cook shack, bunk house for single men, gas pump house, public well house and other small buildings, besides large lumber drying area. The mill ran continuously on this site for 50 years. For the past 40 years, it has remained as wetland and pasture land until the Mary Lou Deyo Family generously donated this land. The Deyo Dam was finished in 2011, creating the 55 acre reservoir, and the campground was finished in 2013.
Deyo Campground is closed for the 2022 camping season. It will be open for reservations starting April 1, 2023 for the camping season starting May 1, 2023 !

Loved it!!! To much snow to get down to the parking lot so we walked in . we were ice fishing from the end of the dock. Then i walked out on the ice we found some holes that were augered out . we chipped them open and caught 2 really nice 18" rainbows
The fishing was just too good. Limited out in an hour! The trout are the largest I've seen in this area. There's plenty of seating and docks to fish at. A hand full of camping spot in the shade looked like they would be nice to stay at. Loved the fact there was running water and nicer bathrooms.
We were there end of Sept., 2016. A nice relaxing place. Beautiful setting. Nice big area at each campsite. Plan to go back in 2017.
For some reason Google has listed me as the owner, which I am not.
Beautiful reservoir to spend a day. Lots of benches for seating, covered area with picnic tables, good fishing from the dock, vault toilet facilities available, trails, wildlife, and not too many people.
