Located approximately 45 minutes east of Omaha, NE and Council Bluffs, IA, and 5 miles from Harlan. Exit I-80 at US59 head north 16 miles, turn right on Co Rd F32. RV park is 1 mile on the left (across street from Shelby County Community Golf Course).
The bar/restaurant has great fish fry Fridays plus the chicken and burgers are excellent. Good full menu of other tasty food. Been eating here from time to time year around for many years. Has good cabin type lodging options, as well.
The cabins where you sleep were very comfortable with a bed a fold out couch and bunk beds, this allowed for quite a bit of people to sleep. The room was air conditioned making it even more likable. With the outside activities besides meeting with families there is a pretty big sized pond with multiple s varieties of fish from massive to small, along with that there is a little play ground and a pool. Overall loved the placed and will be coming back next year.
Dogg's is under new ownership (now BK's Boathouse), but still a great place to stop. Good food. Live bands. Solid beverage selection. Fun for young and old alike!
Good food,great broasted chicken. Entertainment through the summer.Love going out there.Put a really good fireworks display in July.Can't beat the pleasant people..
Fun place while in town. Friendly staff, good food. Nice size bar with outside bar and patio. Games inside and plenty of parking. I would strongly recommend going. You'll see on here some people complaining about time, I have never had that problem and even if I did. I'm not down at lake rathbun to rush. I'm chilling having a great time!
