About Campground

Cool Lea Campground is a family oriented campground located on the shore of pristine Cayuta Lake. We are just a short drive away from Odessa, Montour Falls, Watkins Glen and Ithaca NY. We offer tent, W/E only RV and Full Hook Up sites along with two cabins, a cottage and a rental camper.

Our weekends are filled with music from our live bands, Karaoke nights, Trivia, card games, lake side movie nights for kids and adults Plus Bridie Sue's Kitchen is open every weekend so you don't have to cook if you don't want to. On holiday weekends we have Tom's Awesome Chicken BBQ. There is Corn Hole, Horseshoe, and Ladder Ball Tournaments, kids scavenger hunts, hay rides along with many other activities for younger and older children. Our 4th of July weekend is huge with the best fireworks celebration around.

It wouldn't be complete if we didn't mention we also have kayak and canoe rentals a swimming area, playground and a pavilion that can be rented for weddings, receptions, birthdays, business events or any other event you may want to have by the water. And speaking of the water, Caytua Lake is filled with game fish from bass to walleye we have it. You may even have a chance watch the eagles and osprey as they dive into the lake for a fish or two.

Our store has your camping essentials, plus much more, there is games for kids, a pool table and dart board for adults. Firewood is for sale and delivered to your site even before you arrive if you choose it on your reservation.

We look forward to having you join us.

My absolute favorite place! Perfect for families or couples! Everyone is wonderful and the food truck on the weekends is the best food truck I've been to ever!

Manager straight up lied to us and got caught in his lie. Tried to charge us all $20 to fish the lake instead of tell us where the public boat launch was 1/4 mile up the road. I despise sheisty and conniving businessman. Might want to get a new manager!! He was also very rude to his dog which I don’t care for either. He was a good pup and was behaving just fine. DO NOT GO HERE!

This campground is way way OVER priced!! Yup, they usually have a band on Friday nights, but that doesn't make it even close to worth 80.00 a night. There is not even cable included for that amount. The internet is horrible unless your standing next to the office and phone service is non-existent! Other campgrounds in the area (Spruce Row for instance) are half the price. The owners are nice, there is a tiny play area for kids, and the bathrooms are kept clean. However none of that justify the price.

RV Camped in Oct.Very well maintained campground. It’s very peaceful here, no traffic and lots of stars for gazing. Good WiFi. Reasonably priced. Only about 15 minutes from Watkins Glen and wineries.

The campground itself is very nice and everyone, staff and campers, were very pleasant.

Unfortunately I chose to stay in a “cabin” and did not find the stay worth $70 a night. The size was as advertised and I was very happy there was a heater available. The cabin floor was basically 2x4s with large gaps such as you would see on a deck. You could see the dirt beneath the cabin and I was quite worried about unwelcome guests in the night such as snakes or rats. Quite unsettling to me. The windows didn’t work well, had to go outside to close them.

It is a beautiful park and close to Watkins Glen, the wineries and most anything you need. There is a convenient store 5 minutes away. Be sure to hit Jerlandos in Montour Falls. The sunrise over the lake was gorgeous. The park seemed very quiet, though I was there in September. Who knows what it’s like during peak season. The weekend food truck is a great bonus. Can’t comment on the entertainment as I was there late season and there was none. Not a negative to me.

I’m sure with some TLC the cabins could be improved. I understand the campground is under new ownership so hoping upgrades are on the agenda. If I had a camper I wouldn’t hesitate to stay.
