I love this time of year Kerr Lake is a spot I frequently visit. Boating, skiing, fishing, hiking, camping, and just laying around relaxing are a few things you can do.

My favorite is fishing for catfish on jugs or drift fishing using shad for bait.

I almost lost my poll a couple of times from them hard-hitting blues.

If you get a chance to wet a hook I recommend Short Mountain Cove for your next adventure.

This campground was on the lake, quite a ways back in the woods. Quiet, very spacious and the people who camped there were very friendly. We only stopped in for one night while traveling home. Will definitely spend a couple on days the next time through. Since we had arrived at dusk, we went out for dinner at Shad's Catfish Hole, a little bit back on the north side of the river. It was excellent!

I love it out here because I've been out here before and then and I love bringing my kids out here because I've been out here before with my dad and my mom and they had brought me out here when I was little and also you can bring pets out here as long as they are on 80 and also I love that no one really bothers you out here and you can also go fishing and swimming and some people bring their boat down here
