Seventeen miles east of Georgetown on Wentworth Springs road. East of the dam on the north side of the road
I love this place! The lake is beautiful! There are critters everywhere and the water is perfect on a hot day!
Very big, 4 bear boxes, 2 large grills, 1 large fire ring with grill. About a dozen tables. And probably 10-12 flattened pads for tents.
Awesome group campsite. Picnic tables are placed in well eating area away from BBQ grills. Fire pit well placed as well with logs as bench around the pit. Parking is plenty. Tent area are plenty as well and away from fire pit, BBQ grill. 4 food storage container to keep bears from eating your food. During our stay no bears were spotted. Rest rooms are Vault toilet. We brought air freshners and it help through out our stay. Rest room already had a car air refreshner inside and is routinely kept cleaned by the Camp Host everyday. Resevoir is nearby for swimming and fishing.
My group really like the area and suggested we all come back next year to the camp site.
Only suggestion I have is bring a water house to clamp onto the water facet to extend the water elsewhere.
This is one of the best group campsites I've been too. I almost want this little gem to stay a "secret". Huge area literally holds 75 people. There are 5 dedicated RV/Trailer parking spurs, but only 4 are decent with a table. The 5th one is short to be used as a last resort. There are also 8 very nice flat tent sites. Huge group area with tons of tables and a group fire ring (Only one in the site you are allow to have any fire in). Dedicated bathroom for just your party, however we did have a rude motorcycle crew roll in blasting their music and use the facilities, (keep the gate that the bottom of the hill closed at all times). Its about 150/200 yard walk to the water. There is kind of a beach and you can launch kayaks and paddle boards from. We went on 4th of July weekend and it got full, but still space for everyone.
