It was really Cold in the morning, the bathroom was dirty, the place is nice but just recently became day use only with the parking area reduced to a fraction formerly available. There is spotty phone coverage,no hand washing sink or running water or light.
The cons:There is no phone number. There is a single unisex bathroom with no running water, eight sites, no lights, spotty cell coverage, general store closed at 530 daily is half mile away. No bus,no cab, bring firewood, cold in the mornings, bears, cougars, raccoons. The pros : absolute beauty all around, friendly locals, gorgeous Creek right along side, sone of thr only remaining steelhead and trout fishing in Cali, reasonable rates, nobody up in your face, good neighbors, (first legal marijuana farm in California) If you like yourself, and nature, this is the spot.
Nice picnic and river bar spot in Honeydew. A few picnic tables available for a picnic. Portapotty available. Town has regular trash pickup to keep the garbage cans clean. Beautiful clear water for a dip. Two stores nearby for picnic supplies and a gas pump. Maybe one day there will be a playground or volleyball net for games.
