We stayed at Brookdale Lodge June 7-9. We had a few issues with the cleanliness of the home. The floors were very filthy. I could not have my 1-year old grand girls crawling on it. There were a ton of cobwebs inside the bedroom closets which made it distasteful to place any of our belongings there. They had an ant infestation, which finally led us to depart one day early. I attempted to discuss these issues with the woman who answered the phone and she was unprofessional and not responsive to the feedback I was trying to relay. I asked to speak to the property manager, Jonathon, and she refused to allow me to do so. All guests should be given an opportunity to review their stay, and this property management team has blocked me from accessing my guest book to write a review. Hopefully, this message will reach any potential visitors considering this property.
Pros:
The place was nice and big, great bunk rooms and amenities. I love the fact that they have all the game tables and outdoor areas for fun. There's no grass though.
The owners are super friendly and helpful.
The kitchen has some essentials you might need for cooking. The dining table is great for a large group. We had 3 families there and could fit everyone.
They have play pens and a crib plus a high chair in case you have littles. And the paved circular drive way is fun for little biker riders.
It's pretty far out and is super quiet and pristine. There are cows in the back field which really give you the sense that you're in the country. The views are gorgeous and we loved sitting on the back deck in the morning for coffee.
Cons:
The house is 7 miles from town and there are no ATV trails you can take from the house, you have to trailer them and it's a little hazy as to where you can actually quad run in that area.
I am super sensitive to fragrance and every thing has been washed in high chemical fragrance laundry detergent and dryer sheets. I literally had to re-wash all the linens in one of the bunk rooms because the whole room smelled of chemical fragrance which gave me sneezing attacks. I would recommend the owners wash everything in a free and clear brand or at least supply it. My son also broke out in a horrible rash because of the laundry detergent.
There were no working batteries in the remote controls, we had to swap out batteries between all the remotes every time we needed to use one. This made watching a movie really annoying.
The air conditioner is locked. You cannot change the temperature of the house to be any where below 72 degrees. The bunk room above the master gets ridiculously hot so it made it miserable to sleep in. Plus with how much we're paying a night we should be able to adjust the damn thermostat for our comfort.
There are no kitchen wash cloths just sponges.
The decor isn't bad but the actual decorating is not so great. I would be a fun place to decorate though.
All in all we had a great time out there and I would recommend this house.
What a beautiful lodge. Very clean and beautifully decorated. It has all the amenities of home in the mountains of beautiful McCall! It has a great deck with a hot tub. There is also a wonderful fire pit and volleyball court. It’s close enough to town to run in for a bite or skating or the lake. But, far enough away that your not in the hustle bustle of being in town. It is also super close to the river park. (About 3 miles.
We loved staying here! We came in the off season. October in McCall is so beautiful! As a runner I loved hopping on the nearby trail. The view was amazing. Also, it is just minutes from jug mountain which has amazing mountain biking trails. Two thumbs up!
