About Campground

The Gated Resort today, supports an ongoing adult only community of residents, both full time and RV travelers. During April through September, holds unique opportunities as a family destination. In close proximity to Mexico cultural and entertainment destinations. Bluebonnet is a family environment, just a short distance from South Padre Island, one of the Texas Gulf Coast year-round beaches with the best winter climate.

While the Rio Grande Valley provides many leisure time opportunities, Bluebonnet holds its own charm with an indoor pool and newly refurbished and updated Game Room/Lounge. New to the Resort is a Pet Bath House and Dog Park with agility course for our four legged friends. Meticulously maintained grounds that support old world fountain gathering centers along with; a newly constructed butterfly garden. Butterflies are natural to the Valley which is home to the National Butterfly

Center. After hours activities include wine tasting events in the newly constructed pagoda with a soon outdoor kitchen, fire pit and entertainment area.

The resort maintains regulation shuffleboard courts, a remodeled State of the Art fitness room, measured fitness trail within the resort boundaries, horseshoe pits, a stage, professional sound system and a complete kitchen contained in both recreation halls.

As with any state-of-the-art facility, Bluebonnet is ADA Compliant and is completely accessible.

Pricing includes up to 2 people per site. $2.00 per night for extra guests. Two week maximum for additional guests.

Rich and I arrived at Blue Bonnet on Dec 7, 2017, we were greeted with smiles and friendly atmosphere, We are playing music and Karaoke in the Tiki Hut on Wednesday’s and Friday’s during Social Hour 3pm - 5pm, we have a great time and a great crowd, friendly people, nice clean park, Management has also treated us with great kindness, if we need anything they are right there to help in anyway they can, Thank you Jeff and Kathie and the entire team for making this a pleasant Park, also like to thank Sue the Head of Activities for hiring us for New Years Eve this year. We are having a lot of fun.

This is our first winter here. We love it. Everyone is so nice and friendly. The lots are big, management and staff are great, the limited activities ( because of COVID) have been fantastic. We're single ladies so really like that there are so many other singles here. We'll be back next winter.

Camped in a 35” motorhome. We are self contained so cannot comment on restrooms/shower facilities. Stayed in site #96.

I’ve been visiting my folks in this park for more than 10 years. Now I have an RV and stay each year. The new manager, Steve is a good guy and is trying to turn around the reputation of the park. The previous manager was a horrific force of nature and bully that ran off dozens of good people. It’s a wonderful park, very clean and quiet but during the previous manager’s tenure the amount of tension and stress was palpable. Steve has lots of workers making improvements like the new dog wash and renovated pool hall but more importantly, he’s a nice guy that treats people fairly. I hope Steve can convince people that he’s indeed changed the energy and friendliness level in the park.

Pros –

- Very level and spacious sites

- Quiet campground

- Lots of fruit trees

- Friendly and helpful Manager

- Dog wash on site (free)

- Laundry facilities very nice, clean and reasonably priced

- Lots of nice people call this place home in the winter.

Cons – None

The manager, John, is by far the best manager that has come through Bluebonnet in the past 20 years! He has made so many improvements this season. From the brand new dog park, to the beautiful rock waterfall in the butterfly garden, to all of the beautifully planted trees, bushes and flowers throughout the resort! John is a hard worker too, as he gets out there and plants the trees and helps out however he can!

Not only that, but it seems that the entire staff has been rejuvenated by John's leadership! They all seem to have higher sprits this season and seem to love their jobs.

All around great job by everyone to make the Guest stay at Bluebonnet the BEST!

See you all next season ;-)

I could live here for freaking every! I’ve enjoyed my stay. The staff is outstanding, grounds are well kept, lots of amenities, weather is absolutely gorgeous and produce vendors are inexpensive. Oh and I almost forgot the community is not only friendly but quiet.
