Loved it. Fun walking path, a bit wet and wear bug repellant during the Spring hatching season. Nice wide paths with some hillls and challenge but not excessively difficult. Winter cross country skiing and snowshoeing and winter hiking is just as fun. Beautiful park to get some fresh air any time during the year.
This is an awesome park that is a little out of the way. It is very much a place you should go out of way and take a hike. We took are boys here to go geocaching.
By far the best cabin rental I've had. These are modern luxurious cabins. My pictures explain about the cabins. We had fun family time away from wifi.
8 people can sleep. There is 4 twin size beds. One queen pull out sofa and one double. Kitchen is fully furnished. Baseboard heat. Hot water shower.
Betty & Wilbur State Park was a wonderful campground that is close to both Albany and Syracuse. It is definitely worth your consideration for a family/friends gathering or just to get away from everything. It has very private sites with modern cottages and sits on top of a hill facing west, so there are some amazing views and sunsets. It's nice and cool there on hot summer days and also tends to be breezy, so bring some warmer clothes for evenings. Cooperstown, Oneonta and Glimmerglass State Park are nearby for plenty of activities. Highly recommend campground.
The cabins are absolutely top notch, but the reviews stating that the hike and bike trail is good for mountain biking are not accurate. Regarding the cabins though, I have truly never seen better. Definitely worth the cost.
All in all, the visit was a great one! Very relaxing, peaceful and thoroughly pleasant. The park staff are great, very helpful and available when they say they will be.
