From Hot Springs, travel 3 miles west on U.S. 270, then 12 miles north on Hwy. 227 to the park. Approaching the park from Hwy. 7, turn on Hwy 192, and travel west 6 miles to Hwy. 227, then 2 miles north to the park.
Very peaceful and well maintained park. The staff is extremely friendly. You can tell all the staff care about the park as they take the cleanliness seriously as well as park rules. I often saw staff checking on things and cleaning. On top of that, the park itself is quiet with enough room for many people to stay and it doesn't feel crowded. At times you can feel like the only one there. The swim beaches are lovely, quiet and peaceful. Can't wait to go back and explore more of this gorgeous park!
One of our fav places to visit in Hot Springs. This is such a beautiful and clear lake. Plenty of good fishing. Camping available. Hiking trails. Boat rentals. Great place for a family getaway or to go and just relax
Very beautiful scenery especially in the fall with fall colors. We stayed away from park at best western cuz they allow dogs, and it was right across street from casino where my wife likes the fancy blinking lites and losing money. My favorite is the scenery especially fall colors, the lake and ponds with pretty trees around were beautiful. We all enjoyed the trip. This next year during fall colors we are planning farther north at Ozarks or east in smoky mountains or blue ridge parkway. Try these!
This place is stunning! I can’t wait to go back. We ended up there bc it was the only place with an open campsite at the last minute and I couldn’t be happier. The facilities were clean, the staff we encountered were nice. The park was clean there wasn’t a lot of litter. Very scenic! Deer everywhere. The islands are so cool! PSA get your boaters safety stuff before going if you think you’ll rent a boat. The park wasn’t over crowded and it was way better than Hot Springs imo.
Located in the southeastern part of Arkansas, Lake Ouachita State Park is an ideal destination during the fall season. The crystal-clear waters are embraced by expansive mountains adorned with towering trees. Offering excellent camping and hiking opportunities, the park also provides amenities for boating, fishing, and swimming.
