Nice park and nice dog area. Very pleasant stay and everybody who worked there was very friendly but after staying there a week and spending well over $150 dollars for camping my husband and I wanted to use the day use area and take the boat out one last time on our last day before leaving. We were under the assumption like most state parks that as long as we left our campsite by check out we were more than welcome to use the day area on our last day. Well once we parked in a very large empty parking lot and after spending well over $150 dollars on camping that week the rangers felt the need to harass us and kick us out. Suddenly not so friendly. Day use is another fee even if we were just camping. This is the first time this has happened to us at a state or national park. Normally as long as you leave your campsite you’re still welcome to use the park on the day your tag says you leave. Totally Insane!! We took our time leaving but needless to say we were unable to take the boat out. It’s the principal of it. Did I have another $15. Sure. But that’s not ok. How much more do you really need.

Perfection comes at a noisy price!

Yes this park is about as orderly and well kept as you can get and that's because starting at 7:45am an army of young workers and their noisy gas powered 4 wheelers start motoring too and fro for most of the day. Worst spots to be are along the main road side.

Great beach for kids and views along walking trails but if you are looking for a quiet more natural setting with space between neighbors this isn't it.

We had previously stayed in a park the same size recently and one efficient lady in a quiet electric golf cart managed the tiny bit of raking required for those leaving each day without having to start at 7:45am while we're sitting out trying to enjoy our morning coffee.

We had the front spot next to the boat landing. The area is quiet and secluded. The showers didn’t have high water pressure but was clean. The beach was nicely groomed, clean, and our kids enjoyed playing there. We were spoiled by the cotton candy sunsets. We had water and electricity hookups. Clean out area was easy to maneuver in/out. They have a junior ranger program for kids and a reward is given once the worksheet is completed. Highly recommend.
