Great spot over looking Durango. Pit toilet. charcoal grills and picnic tables.

Paved (slightly rough) the whole loop.

If you're in a wheelchair, clockwise is the steeper climb

This a great place to take small kids, and visitors who aren’t used to the elevation. It is a bit of a dusty, bumpy and windy ride to the parking area but it’s worth it. The entire trail is paved, so strollers will work. A wheelchair could work depending on the size of the person in the chair. There are no steep grades, several picnic tables, amongst the trees and some really beautiful views. The hike is quite short if you are an avid hiker you will not be impressed but if you love sharing the outdoors with those who don’t hike often or cannot hike often this is a great place to take them.

Beautiful views!! Vault toilets available during the summer months. Also picnic tables and charcoal grates to cook. Great place to picnic. You are at the top of the mountain so it can get windy. Also expect the temperature to be about 10° cooler than it is in town.

Excellent view and short little hike. We had a picnic lunch here with no interruptions and the best views near town. Worth the long bumpy drive.

If you are looking for a quick and easy afternoon walk with a good scenic view - this is the place!

Trail is paved and has several picnic areas with tables and grills. There are also restrooms, but they are closed off-season.

Access is via a dirt road. 4x4 or awd vehicles are recommended. I made it up with minimal drama in a VW GTI, but the ride was a bit jarring, and there were some spots which can be very dangerous when icy!
