A wonderful scenic surprise in AL. Stopped by while we were in the area and had a great time exploring the house boat and loch.
This could be a magnificent place to visit. Unfortunately, it is in absolutely horrible disrepair with a rotting, paint-peeling structure, uncut grass and weeds and tree limbs everywhere. It truly looks abandoned and on the verge of collapsing. Who is responsible for this place?
Beautiful sunset. Wonderful host site for Town of Pickensville's Pre 4th of July Fireworks!
Been here many times through the yrs, currently has some building maintenance going on, so call ahead to check if they are back to normal. It's a great stop for loads of information and a great view.
Just a lazy afternoon at one of the lock dams. The Montgomery old steam ship let's you step back in time. The glimpse backward makes you appreciate the time that technology has moved forward. There are some rocking chairs on the second deck outside of the mess hall where we sat and ate our lunch with a cool breeze Whispering over over us as we looked out across the river. The old steam ship it's a sight to see if you are a history buff of the Americas. You can climb up into the captains chair top deck and enjoy the 360 View imagining that you were in charge of the crew and all of the steel beneath you.
