Rented a cabin here for a long, relaxing weekend getaway. I was very happy with the entire experience! The manager, Wendy, was very nice, professional and helpful! We stayed in Cabin 6 on the property, tucked right up against the wood-line, off to the left side of the front(ish) of the property. The cabin is the prefect size and has a cute little front porch with a small bistro table and chairs, perfect to sit and drink morning coffee. There is a fire pit about 6 feet away from the porch, in the grass, which we made good use of during the evenings/nights, as we enjoyed a warm fire and stargazed for hours - I even saw a shooting star! I was very happy with how clean and pleasant the cabin was. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was soft and warm. There is a full size fridge and microwave, coffee maker with complementary coffee/creamer and mugs, Direct TV cable, and WiFi. There is also a coal grill outside and the fire pit has a removeable metal grate that you can add to cook on. The cabin has a full bathroom with standup shower, which is greatly appreciated after a long day of hiking through the miles of trails on their property! Aside from the cabins, they also have tent camping sites and RV sites that are rented out - which tends to slow at this time of the year, but they do provide hook ups to RVs and rent spots through the winter. So, we did have a few RV neighbors while staying there, and everyone we saw was very friendly. There are 3 small lakes on the property with catch and release fishing. Once of the lakes has a small beach for use in the summer, and there is a cabin that is right near the beach that can be rented as well. There is a big recreation center with a pool table and other cool stuff, a big playground as well. We were having such a good time hiking and relaxing at the cabin that we didn't make use of the rec center, but it's a great option to have, especially if you have kids! There are plenty of things to do in the area too... We took a ride over to Ohio Caverns, about 15 minutes away, and did a tour there which was really incredible, highly recommend checking that out. We went horseback trail riding at Marmon Valley Farm (only about 8 minutes away) - best trail ride I've ever been on! Took a drive into Bellefontaine to have lunch one day at Don's Diner - they have the best burgers... had dinner our last night in town at 2 G's Barbecue - really, really great food and service there. Everything made for an awesome getaway and we'll definitely be back to A&E for another cabin rental in the future!

I will not be returning. Who hired this crazy women in the office? She might be the new owner. I’m not 100%. No way I’m dealing with her rudeness and attitude ever again. Why go into a hospitality business and have no hospitality skills? Definitely didn’t feel welcomed and miss the man that worked there before. So very nice.

New owners. Now it's called Aventures Trails. If you want a friend to visit, they have to have an $8 day pass per person. You have to have a background check to even stay there. Not at all as nice as they advertise. Very dirty. Trash, Satellite dishes, picnic tables thrown everywhere. The "trails" are overgrown paths. There is no free wifi, unless you're parked by the office. Wendy swears they are cleaning it up. She is rude and a nightmare to deal with. I was so excited about staying there. Couldn't even make it 2 months. We couldn't have our deep freeze because it was an eye sore. To have it, she wanted us to put a tent around it. lol huh? Our site was nothing but a mud hole. We offered to put more gravel down, Wendy said no, we had enough. Very disappointed. I will never recommend this place. What I would recommend, go somewhere else.

My 15 year old daughter and her friends were swimming for approximately 30 minutes and when they came out of the water they was covered in leaches. I pulled 16 off them off her in the shower house. I was completely disgusted and upset as well as my daughter. We left immediately!

Some friends came to visit and decided to get a cabin at the resort because of their dog. The campgrounds were very nice and well-maintained. There were lots of things to do for the kids - large playground, bouncy house, swimming, fishing, slate creeks, indoor games. Other guests were very friendly and nice too!
