This review is of the trail along Diamond Creek to the beach, on the north side of Kachemak Bay. The trailhead is accessible from the Sterling Highway by following a narrow, eroded, pot-holed gravel road.
It's really nice to be on the beach at the mouth of Diamond Creek. However, nobody says: "this trail is so awesome!". The steep trail is on an old illegally-constructed roadbed and erosion is a severe problem. Combined with soils derived from volcanic ash, which are extremely slippery when wet, the trail itself could objectively be described as awful. But it's nice be be on the beach at the mouth of Diamond Creek!
