It's a fairly standard desert scrub landscape, but it's a nice combination of secluded yet close to a town. I always appreciate a free place to camp, too. However, you need to be very careful if you don't have 4WD, because it's very easy to get your car sucked into the sand. My car sank into the sand and I had to spend half the day searching for someone who was even willing to come out on those dirt roads to tow me out.
