About Campground

Virgin Islands Campground is an eco-sensitive resort with self-contained cottages set on pristine, 500-acre Water Island, in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Known for its natural charm, Water Island is a secluded getaway that should be at the top of your Caribbean vacation list. Come here and spend a quiet day looking out over the ocean from your cottage’s private terrace. How about a little more activity? A leisure five-minute walk to idyllic Honeymoon Beach will have you taking advantage of some snorkeling and sunbathing. In need of even more adventure? Visit rugged and secluded Limestone Bay, also just a quick trek down from your cabin.

With regular Ferry Service offered (7 min. ride) makes shopping, dining and activities in St. Thomas extremely convenient from your Virgin Islands Campground accommodations. Additionally, hourly ferry service allows you to island hop between the U.S. Virgin Islands as well as the British Virgin Islands easily.

Ready for something comfortably different? Our wood and canvas cottages offer a new and unique approach to the Caribbean vacation. “Glamping”, a fusion between glamour and camping, gives you the comforts of a hotel room – electricity, comfortable beds and clean linens – with the closeness to nature you feel only when camping. We provide all of this while keeping sustainability and the environment in mind. Our eco-friendly tent-cottages are nestled amongst lush foliage offering privacy while cooling comes from the balmy trade winds as sounds of the gentle surf below lull you to sleep.

If you are ready to experience a peaceful eco-friendly Caribbean vacation in the US Virgin Islands, Virgin Islands Campground on Water Island should be your next Eco travel adventure.

Most tranquil place I have ever been. Loved the locals. And our host Steve and his wife made our stay fantastic. Plan on visiting again soon. Was total paradise. If you enjoy the outdoors then this is the perfect place to stay. You have peace of mind and I was so happy with your facility I wii be coming back to your Island again .

Took my girlfriend for a weekend in Water Island and had the best time at VI Campground. It's exactly as advertised, so any surprises are on you! The windy breeze was perfect, and the VI Campground made us feel like we were on an adventure on the edge of the Earth. Grateful for the entire team there for making it an awesome adventure for us! I'm from St. Thomas but had not stayed on Water Island in many years. VI Campground has the vibe that'll make you forget where you come from, and enjoy where you are! Thanks again! See you soon!

We spent a week at this campground recently. It was so relaxing. The shared kitchen area was nice for meeting new people. The solar-heated, rope-pull showers were refreshing. We loved our rustic cottage. The breeze, sounds of tree frogs, the surf and a steady wind put us to sleep every night. We enjoyed relaxing and exploring Water Island by golf cart and many beaches in St Thomas just a ferry ride away. Water Island's Honeymoon Beach was a perfect day of doing nothing. Forgot to mention the stunning view from our cottage porch was breath-taking. The stay was lovely. We will return.

We stayed on Water Island for 4 days at the VI campground and loved it! The island is remote and the “camping” is really nice with cozy cottages and amazing views! Our favorite part was swimming with the sea turtles at Honeymoon beach and hiking to the Fort for sunset. Jason was an exceptional host!!! He was super accommodating and made us feel at right at home:)

Thank you Jason for our wonderful visit to your campground, hope to see you again some day!

We brought our 3 year old here for a week and it was our best family vacation by far! We rented a golf cart and spent almost every day at Honeymoon Beach playing in the sand and water. The owner Jason answered every question I had via email, while the hosts Joe & Karen were so warm and welcoming while we were there. We can’t wait to return next winter, it was a dream!
