We had the best experience at Maidstone state park! Tom, the park manager was amazing and super helpful and had great people skills and gave us lots of information about the beautiful state park. We rented a canoe for a hour and it was so much fun! Beautiful scenery and would recommend to anyone even if it's a little bit of a drive. We drove about 3 hours and it was SO worth it!

Visited in July 2022, nice little park, clean, staff was very friendly. The lake is VERY busy, not quite a peaceful setting mid-summer, but early in the season, or much later, would be quieter. Hiking trails are good.

Stayed for a week in July 2023 everything was clean and well kept up. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Lake was beautiful!!

The only negative I would give it is the coin showers are a bit pricey make sure to bring plenty of quarters.

Wonderful place with seemingly new bathroom shower house that sets a high standard for all parks across the nation.

Great experience at Maidstone! We were a late check in, getting to the campgrounds after dark. The Park Ranger Tom was accommodating, patient & super helpful. Our lean-to (Shadblow) was situated in a great spot. Close enough to the bathrooms, but elevated enough to provide privacy. We had a dog with us (as did 30 other campers) & the campground looked to be at or near capacity and yet it was quiet. The Shore Trail was an enjoyable quick walk with some spectacular looking trees. Listening to the loons at night was a real treat. Will definitely be back!
