Our 74-acre ANIMAS RIVER FRONT RV Park is the only Costa Rican-inspired resort in the United States!!! It’s the perfect place to relax, have fun, and drift into Tico Time! Located just 20 minutes south of Durango, CO, you won’t find anything like it in the Four Corners.
Beautiful location. We stayed there for a few weeks in the offseason and it was very peaceful. I could not give 5 stars because the showers/toilets were dirty and/or out of toilet paper every time I went.
I would say this is the best music festival venue I've been to besides Lightening In A Bottle.
They have fun adventure things such as : zip lining, obstacle course, and tubing down the river.
We did all of it & it's very affordable & fun!! Definitely recommend tubing if the water level is high. We encountered some rocks. But navigatable & great because it led my partner & I to work together.
They had porta poddies in addition to the built outhouses. I would say the Porta poddies smell better than the built outhouses. & They were so clean! It's always a joy to see clean Porta Poddies. As a person has encountered many music festivals, I am SO GREATFUL for the cleanliness!!! 🤙👌
The water is so refreshing when dancing hard. I'll definitely be back for a future groove fest! And all the people there were so nice!! Workers, attendees, even the people renting out their RV out to others were nice.
They also have showers. I didn't get to them, just dipped in the river daily haha but it's there!
Oh, and please don't walk barefoot. There's lots of stickers & pocky things. This desert has wild grass & desert wild grass gets prickly when it dries out.
The medics said that lots of people weren't taking care of their feet by being barefoot.
Have fun y'all! 🌈🐢🦋
First time out at Tico Time for a festival and had a blast. The atmosphere and surroundings were so chill. I stayed in the RV part with my son and even though you are fairly close to other people everyone was respectful and chill. They host some pretty amazing festivals and I'm looking forward to going back for future festivals and to what they have to offer as a river resort. P.S. I really enjoyed getting my feet in the soft sand. I really felt like I was walking on the beach. I lived in Eastern NC for years and missed that soft beachy, sand feeling.
We came in the off season for the eclipse, but the place was still awesome! The place seemed generally unstaffed, but we held up just fine. We played the disc golf course (bring your own discs) which was super fun as well.
We stayed in the Tamarindo area in a tent. We are used to rent camping, so it was perfect for us. It’s all grass and there are compost toilets throughout. I did read there are only two hot showers (which is true), so I can see how that could be an issue in peak season. We have our own outdoor shower, though, so if we’d come during the summer, we’d use that instead anyways.
They do have a cafe (Super) but it was closed when we visited.
We look forward to coming back in the summer! Looks like it’ll be a blast.
I absolutely adore Tico time River resort! We try and make at least one trip out every year, we live 5 hours away, if not multiple trips. The people are so nice and the facilities they provide are excellent! There's so many options of festivals during the summer, it's easy to make this a consistent stop. Even without a festival there's plenty to do, between the water slides, zip lines, disc golf or just hiking around this place is awesome!
