My wife and I stayed two nights in the New Room for a weekend mini-cation and we fell in love with the place. The room was charming and the atmosphere was perfect. Very clean and temperature controlled. The bed was very comfortable and the furnishings were charming and not typical of an old bed and breakfast, as other reviews have noted as well. The private en-suite bathroom was huge, clean, and with a large walk in shower.

We had our own covered private balcony overlooking the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers where they converge, and a beautiful view of the lower town along Potomac Street. A porch swing and two comfortable padded patio chairs and a small table to relax with a bottle of wine, also with folding chairs. You won't get a better view in town from your room anywhere else. Location is right smack dab in the lower town and within mere steps of restaurants, pubs, and the historic national park sites. Nothing further than a 30 second to 2 minute walk.

You won't find better parking in town and it comes with the room and you park directly behind the building. But you probably won't need your car as everything is so close.

Chris, the owner, is an awesome dude and fun to talk with, and the breakfasts he prepares are delicious and rival any 5 star hotel chef breakfast. We were impressed from top to bottom at this bed and breakfast and highly recommend it to all and will return. I can't think of one negative thing about the Stonehouse Bed and breakfast.

This cozy and cute B&B is in the center of Harpers Ferry and was an absolute joy to stay in. We had a lovely time in the New Room. Chris and his family were great and went above and beyond. We accidentally left our headphone there, and Chris was amazing, he found them and shipped them back to us quickly. Would highly recommend staying here!

The host, Chris was on vacation when I stayed, but Cass still makes great breakfasts! Quirky old house with floors that lean a bit and doors that might need a bit of help to close....I love old houses and found this one charming. If you're biking on the C&O it's a good spot - it's near the bottom of the hill. Chris lets you store bikes on the deck off the kitchen, where it's covered and they won't be bothered.

The B&B could not have been in a better location! We stayed in the New Room for a two night get away. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was quite large and the shower was great. Can not say enough about the private balcony. High enough that the view of the water was beautiful. Even when the street below was packed we did nor really hear it. The chairs were comfortable and it was delightful to sit outside and read. We brought a white noise machine which ended up being exactly what we needed with the train so close. The only thing I would do differently would be to bring an eye mask for sleeping. The room has skylights and a ton of natural light even with the blinds pulled down so if you prefer darkness to sleep a mask would be a good idea. The breakfast made by the owner was good. There is a great coffee shop a few doors up the street that we visited both days. Parking on site was a huge bonus.

We loved our stay at the Stonehouse and can’t wait to come back! My husband and I stayed as a treat to celebrate his birthday, on our Pgh to DC bike trip. We absolutely loved the ‘New’ room. It was so nice to sit on the porch and gaze out over the valley. Plus I love watching the trains roll in and out of town. If you’re not a train person, they even have ear plugs for you. But we love them! Cass made us a delicious hearty breakfast that fueled us up very well for our last 60 miles on the trail. I also really enjoyed talking with her. Stonehouse has such charming and historic character, with great modern updates. Truly looking forward to coming back.
