Wouldn’t recommend traveling the terrains without a 4-wheel drive. Cute place, but isn’t near as big as it looks in the pictures.
I’m happy to say I added this cabin to google maps since it wasn’t on here when I went. But I had such a great experience that I felt impelled to ask google to add it. It was so peaceful while I was there. The view was beautiful and the nights out on the porch were great. Great for families. Close to great places to hike and fish.
I chose this Cabin for several reasons:
The pictures were nice
The amenities listed were good
The rate was reasonable.
Dog friendly.
I searched for Serenity Now in Blue Ridge, GA, and the amenities and pictures were impressive and inviting. The amenities and photos were for the other Cabin next to Serenity Now which was misleading. The ad for Serenity now Cabin has a hot tub, gazebo, ping pong table, as shown in pics. I booked directly, thinking that the ad on VRBO, Expedia, Trip Advisor and other booking engines are for the same Cabin. So be very careful.
The Cabin has a nice and peaceful view. The drive to get to the Cabin was a bit challenging. A 4 WD is highly advisable. The road was dangerous, so I highly encouraged arriving while the sun is still out. The Cabin has nice decors inside. The bed in the main bedroom was very uncomfortable. The closet is stocked with the owner's belongings, vacuum cleaner, and store blankets, beddings, and pillows. The second bedroom has better beds but doesn't have a closet. There is a cabinet, but each drawer was stuffed with extra blankets and pillows, which was very difficult to pull out.
I asked for an hour early check-in but was declined due to cleaning. We arrived at 6 PM to give plenty of time to get the Cabin ready. The Cabin was not prepared when we arrived. There was a dirty cleaning rag on the floor. An open soda and an unfinished muffin on a plate on the window sill, a messy bedspread with stains,
unfinished laundry in the washing machine, a dirty dish rack, and disgusting wash towels. The manager was made aware but did not apologize for the inconvenience and said it happened because the Cabin was occupied that day. I wanted him to make the cleaning people aware and to correct the issue. He said he would send a new bedspread the next day, but it did not happen. He did not acknowledge the disgusting towels either.
I was not comfortable in the Cabin as I felt like I would get charged for any damages that I understand if I caused it. We needed to document all the cracks and send pictures on our arrival because I was so worried. I sent photos of everything that I think was damaged, including pots and pans. A dented metal vent was on the floor, which was dangerous because a small sharp metal was sticking out.
The couch on the patio was covered to protect from pollen. The cover needed to put back when checking out. Upon uncovering the couch, it was not clean and had dog hairs. There is an extra charge for having pets to clean pet hairs. I don't think the cleaners take the cover off the couch to clean it.
On our last night, at around 11 PM, a suspicious guy showed up and was trying to get in the Cabin. Through the lock glass door, we asked what he wanted, and he won't talk. Luckily our dog started barking, and he left.
We managed to have an enjoyable family time.
I definitely will not go back to the same Cabin but will revisit the city.
Pictures and descriptions of the cabin and roads are misleading. We had an issue and we reached out to the host and were ignored. When I reached out to VRBO to address the issue, I was told it was not their problem. I would not recommend renting this cabin or going through VRBO.
At first I was skeptical with the reviews on Google but VRBO had outstanding ones. I don’t know if it has changed owners but the place was very cute and quaint. The view was amazing. Yes the road is very rough (you’re going up the side of a mountain) drive slow and you should be fine. The cabin was very clean. The directions originally on Google had the wrong address so I updated it. We ended up using Apple Maps. Perfect getaway for a small family or even a couples retreat. While I’m sure a larger vehicle would be better to drive especially in certain seasons and weather a car could definitely make it up here. Just be aware of your surroundings and go slow in a low gear.
