About Campground

The recreational area is approximately 50 acres in size, flat, open with large gravel beaches providing access to the reservoir. FACILITIES PROVIDED: Two restrooms with flush toilets, outdoor showers and drinking water are available for use. Boat ramp available nearby? small watercraft can be launched from shore. FEATURES: OHV riding opportunities, fishing, camping, watchable wildlife, watercraft recreation, swimming, hiking opportunities, solitude and sightseeing. ADA Access: Restroom facilities are accessible.

Directions

Use Interstate 8 to Yuma, AZ. Take the 4th Avenue to Imperial County Road S24. Go north approximately 22 miles to Senator Wash Road. Turn left onto Senator Wash Road and follow it for approximately 3 miles to the South Mesa campground. Turn left then proceed approximately 200 yards and enter the access road on the right which leads to the reservoir.

It's okay pretty low water levels causing it difficult to swim due to muddy n sticky dirt along the shore was only there a sunlight day other then that no issues. Close to dump n water fill station for LTVA.

Amazing spot right on the water, but no cell service. We also had a big toy hauler move in and run their generator all night every night so we had to leave... Kayaking and the beach are worth it unless you need internet and sleep more :-)
