Beautiful beautiful scenery! It is very hot in the summer time but if you visit between November and March the weather is beautiful. Don't forget your sun screen though. Friendly tip, if you keep a look out, this is a good place to find Fire Agate. :) Enjoy!
BLM land 14 days camping then you have to move. pretty quiet out here a lot of people from different walks of life! Beautiful sunset's always arm your self.
Virgin Saddle Mtn. rockhounder and I have to say,it was astounding. Found dozens of agates and about a dozen with great fire! Rough road for a normal vehicle. Must have high clearance. Peaceful,beautiful area.
Very pretty, but picked over big time in regards to fire agates. Several miles in road gets very rough, but had a 4 wheeler which we unloaded and used. Almost jeep type trail in...
i've spent a lot of time rockhounding at saddle mountain over the past two years and have absolutely loved every minute of it. it is so quiet out there and so very peaceful. where i was rockhounding is not an area that attracts very many people and is quite difficult to get to, although it is still blm land. there are fire agates, all sorts of chalcedony - including some hard to find blue specimens, petrified wood, beautiful jaspers, opals, and countless other rocks and minerals. it is a rockhound's dream. and there is so much blm land that it would take a lifetime to cover it all.
